Palm Beach Entertainment: Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

Palm Beach Entertainment: Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

Decades ago, Palm Beach County was only a shell of what it is today. The residents dreamed of having a performing arts facility, and they eventually made that dream come true. It all started with the Palm Beach Playhouse, which eventually became the Royal Poinciana Playhouse.

A local art-lover and several others came together to form something called the Fine Arts Festival, Inc. By working together, they started raising money for a new arts center. They wanted it to be a venue for opera, ballet, orchestra, and theatre shows.

The research and design process took quite some time. In that time, the city grew. The need for an arts center became even stronger. Then, in 1986, fundraising efforts really took off. After encountering many obstacles, construction finally was able to start in 1989. In 1992, the Kravis Center opened its doors. There were thousands of people who showed up for the first week of performances.

Since then, the Kravis Center has been home to many great performances. Throughout the year, there are unique art performances on display. But the facility is much more than a venue. It’s also a place for community education.

Currently, you can visit the venue for several different performances. Fiddler on the Roof, a Bronx Tale, and Miss Saigon will all be featured events. Performers like Jim Gaffigan will make appearances on the stage and wow audiences.

If you’re interested in enjoying a show, you should buy your tickets today. Living at the Eamon James Apartments allows you to enjoy all of the fun events in the area.
